What moves the price
At the bottom of the ladder are the transport-only seats. BookLapland includes overalls, boots if needed and a briefing from the driver-host; Experience Tours Lapland lists winter clothes and shoes as not included. Neither includes a guide on the trail or food. Guided tours add a guide for the day, usually a group of at most 8, and a stop at a fire. Higher up come photographer guides who send edited pictures, and the full lunch: Lapland Activities cooks three courses over the fire.

Same price, different day
Tours close to each other on the ladder can include quite different things. One lends overalls and boots, another lists no clothing; one picks you up at your hotel, Wild about Lapland only outside the city centre. Check the gear and pickup columns, or the full comparison.
Several reviewers expected more from the food: on tours that list a lunch or a BBQ, some describe a couple of sausages with bread and a hot drink. If a proper meal matters to you, look for a listing that names a lunch rather than a snack, and read what it contains.
Driving yourself
If you drive, the costs are the rental car, fuel and parking. The parking area is part of a paid parking trial from autumn 2026 to spring 2027; the self-drive page has the fee and the navigation warning from Metsähallitus.

“… Some fantastic pictures from the guides. The trek was reasonably short and on a path therefore not through thick snow. Guides were excellent at matching the pace to the group to ensure everyone has the best experience possible. Lunch was minimal of cooking a sausage over the fire but all traditional Finnish experience. Quite expensive for the day but for us it was worth it and we all enjoyed it.”
